The Uncle Tim’s Centre is a Victorian treasure chest of antiques housed in a collection of historical buildings in the outskirts of Benoni. It first opened its doors in 1993 in a century-old farmstead and has grown substantially over the years, becoming one of the most popular destinations in Gauteng for antiques enthusiasts.
At the centre of the complex is the original five-roomed Uncle Tim’s Cabin, which is an antiques and collectables shop stuffed to the brim with antiques, collectables and vintage furniture and even has its own workshop where all the furniture that goes on sale is restored and repaired.
The property boasts a number of other heritage buildings, including an old coachworks and the original farmhouse itself, which are now home to some 20 different shops selling a large assortment of products including Annie Sloan chalk paints and waxes, books, embroidery goods, esoteric and bath- and body products, imported collectables, jewellery, stamps and even a gallery boosting art work from local artists. There is also a shop devoted to horse-riding gear, a shop that sells hard to find DVD’S, CD’s and Vinyl records, a shop selling a huge array of decor and gifting items and even a little “deli” selling the most delicious biltong, droe wors, biltong sticks etc.
While here, why don’t you pop on over to The Secret Garden, a fully licensed restaurant that caters for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans alike.
We are also proud to announce a new addition to the Uncle Tim’s Centre namely The Ruby and Rustic Venue. The Ruby and Rustic venue is a wedding and event venue that can easily handle up to a 100 guests. We can cater for events from intimate family functions such as baby showers, birthday parties, engagement parties, kitchen teas and hen’s parties to bigger functions like weddings and even formal corporate events. It’s also a unique venue for product launches, exhibitions, meetings and conferences.
